Oh, Bully
There was once a giant who walked this earth; a big, strong juggernaut who feared neither man nor beast. He went from village to village, challenging all who dared to fight with him. If the villagers could not defeat the giant, they would have to give him all the food he needed to fill his stomach for a meal. And so, the giant never went hungry because no one could even bruise him, much less defeat him.
One day, the giant came upon a village in the low valley by the river. He was hungry and he laid down the challenge to the villagers. "FIGHT ME OR FEED ME!!!" he roared. The villagers trembled, for they had no harvest that year. "What should we do? What should we do?" cried them all in desperation.
"I'll challenge you!" shouted a little boy as he walked out of the village walls to meet the giant, "I'll challenge you to a duel." The boy looked up at the giant and said, "If you are so big and strong, I challenge you to reach out and touch the Sun." The giant look up at the noon day Sun for a while, and said, "And you, little boy, can do that?"
The boy walked over to the river and knelt down beside it. Right at the spot where the river reflected the Sun in its waters, he cupped his hands, dipped them into the shimmering light, drew up some water and said to the giant, "Our village has no food left inside, I am hungry too. Would a drink of water be enough for you?"

I want to start an orphanage
when asked what she would like to to do in the future, this was the reply of a blind teenage girl who was abandoned by her birth parents but is now adopted and has been given a new life to live: "I want to start an orphanage."
which, to me, was the same as someone saying, "I want to spend my life giving hope to those who have it not, if only because I have received hope from others who gave it to me."
so, what do I want to start?

Here!
i think i'm prone to forgetting that when it comes to sharing, sharing anything, i'm giving up something, in exchange for something better! how often i forget the second half! i mean, really, think about it. i share the last cookie in the jar with a friend, and i get a smile in return.
think when we start not placing the happiness of others above our own, we walk a dangerous downhill path to thinking the world is just me, myself and i. and even if we don't get anything in return for the things we do, come on... how did that ever become the motivation from which we do things for others?

It can be done!
GO WATCH CHARLIE!!!! CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY!!!!!!
came out of the show with these two thoughts: "that's it! that's just it" and "it can be done!!" if in this day and age it is offensive or simply just not-the-thing to talk about God, then let's talk abt God-things!: like how Charlie places his family above all the chocolate in the world, how he shares his one and only chocolate bar with everyone in his family first before taking a bite himself, love between parent and child, purity and simple wholesomeness in the way charlie say no to things offered to him if only because he has something better already.
next term!! what do u want to tell the world? what do u want to show? what gets you excited? so excited that you just want to share it with everyone? what??

In the image of God
Don't you ever wish you were someone else,
You were meant to be the way you are exactly.
Don't you ever say you don't like the way you are.
When you learn to love yourself, you're better off by far.
somethings just need to be repeated, and i guess the fact that we are all made in the image of God needs to be brought up each time we doubt our significance in the eyes of Him who made us.
If we really believe that to be true, then are we satisfied with the way we look, the parents we have, the siblings we have or all of the unchangeables that God has given us? beyond being satisfied, do we give thanks for these things?

Go4th
funniest piece of God-logic i've heard in a while: how when not chasing after a girl is ungodly.
cos if u think a girl is suitable and you don't go after her cos you're like waiting for her to make the first move cos you're too lazy to do anything about it, then you're giving in to your sinful nature of being lazy and that's ungodly.
or if you think you're not good enough for her cos you've got some inferiority complex, then that's relying on your own strength and abilities rather than relying on His grace, and that's ungodly too.
so how?? hahaha... bearing in mind the number of webbers who read my blog, i ought to be shot for writing this... but i guess it's really meant more for those of us in RAYs who are just punks. was a jolt for me, hope it is too for those who fall into this category. =)
